Local Government election of second phase will take place on 19 Nov

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) :  Local Government election of second phase will take place on 19 Nov. Mandi Bahauddin Municipal Committee has 33 seats of general councilor.

To contest these seats there are 140 candidates in the field. PMLN has not issued party ticket to any candidate. PTI have fielded 5 candidates while PPP and Jamat Islami have  one candidate each.  Other candidates are contesting elections as independent. There is one female candidate contesting election on general councilor seat.

According to reliable source all independent candidates belong to PMLN and are divided into two groups, supported by sitting MPA Hamida Wahid and ex MPA Devan Mushtaq.  There is one to one competition in ward number 2 and 33. In other wards contesting candidates are more than three. Some wards have candidates up to 7.  Contest is between Hamida Wahid and Divan Mushtaq groups. Keeping in view popularity, it is expected Hamida group would grab more seats than the other group. However winners of both groups would go to PMLN, therefore PMLN would be winners in Mandi Bahauddin Municipal Committee. Similar position is in rural area where election on 80 seats of Chairman and vice chairman and on 490 seat of general councilor would be contested.
