Lahore: Raiding teams of Wildlife Department conducted raids in Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Narowal and have arrested seven persons and imposed a fine of 63000 rupees on illegal hunting.
This was disclosed by Director General Wildlife Khalid Ayaz while talking to media-men in his office, here today. He told that a fine of Rs. 11000 each has been imposed to Ahmed Khan and Mumtaz on hunting falcon through net in Sialkot, Rs. 10000 to Muhammad Nawaz on illegal hunting of ducks in Gujrat, Rs. 5000 to Ali Akbar and Rs. 6000 to Muhammad Ashraf on keeping partridges without license in Mandi Bahauddin while Rs. 10000 each to Rab Nawaz and Muhammad Jamil on illegal hunting of falcon through net in Narowal.
Khalid Ayaz said that the campaign against illegal hunting will continue till lifting of ban and strict action will be taken against violators. He said that the hunters should wait lifting of ban. DG Wildlife said that raiding teams have accelerated their activities. He said that commendatory certificates will be given to the officers and officials showing best performance.
