Home secretary imposes ban on carrying and displaying arms

Lahore: Provincial Secretary Home Maj.(R) Azam Suleman Khan has, under Section 144, imposed complete ban on carrying and displaying arms from October 28 to November 1, 2015 in 12 districts of Punjab during first phase of local bodies’ elections 2015.

These districts included Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Chakwal, Pakpattan, Okara, Bahawalnagar,
Lodharan, Vehari, Gujrat, Bhakkar and Faisalabad. This ban will also be applicable on licenced weapons and the order will come into force immediately.

Only law enforcement agencies and their employees in uniform will be exempted from this ban. Violators of ban will be arrested immediately and cases will be registered against them.
