Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that sports museum, five star hotels, parking plaza and hostel of international standard for players will be constructed at Nishtar Park Sports Complex at a cost 2.5 billion rupees. He said that the project will be completed in 2018.
He disclosed this while presiding over a meeting with regard to promotion of sports, here today. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that parking plaza being constructed at Nishter Park Sports Complex will be multidimensional. He said that international tournaments and sports activities will be held in this complex.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that Sports Department is constructing gymnasium throughout the province for providing sports and recreational facilities to the youth. He said that Punjab government is also setting up libraries in sports grounds and parks for equal promotion of sports and educational activities as healthy mind is also essential with healthy body. He said that an excellent platform has been provided to talented youth by Sports Department for successfully holding youth festivals.
The Education Minister said that Sports Department is also starting sports youth internship programme for which two billion rupees have been allocated. Moreover, Punjab government is also considering to set up sports university and endowment fund for the players. He said that Punjab government is making efforts for polishing physical and mental abilities of youth as Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif terms spending of all out resources on the youth as a useful investment.
