UEIT is being set up in Rahim Yar Khan:Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (UEIT) is being set up in Rahim Yar Khan for fulfilling the educational needs of IT students of Bahawalpur Division of south Punjab. This project will cost about 3.85 billion rupees and will be completed in 2018. He said that construction work of the university is speedily continuing and an amount of Rs.22 crore has also been allocated during current year for this purpose.

He said this while talking to a delegation of university level teachers belonging to south Punjab. The Minister said that Bahawalpur division is the biggest and important division of the province and Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is specially focusing on the development of districts of south Punjab.

Therefore, Chief Minister has accorded approval to IT and Engineering university especially for Bahawalpur division, he added. He said that Khawaja Fareed UEIT will introduce four years degree programmes in BSc engineering, B.Sc IT and B.Sc Information & Communication Technology, while later on masters and Ph.D programmes will also be started. Punjab Assembly has already approved University Act.
