DCOs are fully active as ROs while Election Commission is just silent:Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that in N-League’s pre-poll rigging DCOs are fully active as ROs while Election Commission is just silent.

He said this while talking to media after meeting PML’s local bodies’ candidates at Ch Zahoor Elahi House in Gujrat.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that according to information received from all districts in the first stage of local bodies election everywhere administration is showing complete partiality, there is complete ban on development works by Election Commission but this fact is quite regrettable that such works are taking place without any check whatsoever under the supervision of the DCOs who are officiating as the Returning Officers whereas changes have also been made in the voters lists for the polling stations in favour of N-League, Returning Officers have also chalked out such massive rigging program on the polling day that other parties people will keep on looking for vote on that day.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that despite written complaints about pre-poll rigging to the Election Commission, no action is being taken which is ample proof of pre-poll rigging is in full progress in favour of N-League. He said massive level rigging was committed in 2013 election and the Returning Officer who were Additional Session Judges got defamed and whole election process was also hit but there is strong apprehension that if the Election Commission kept sleeping during local bodies election and took no action then such rigging will take place that people will forget not only 2013 but also 1977 as a result of which great movement will be launched against this N-League rigging throughout the province.
