Lahore: The 972nd Ghusl ceremony of the mazar of Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al-Hajveri also known as Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh was held at Data Darbar Complex, here today. Provincial Ministers Mian Atta Muhammad Manika, Bilal Yasin and Members National Assembly Pervaiz Malik, Amin-ul-Hasnat besides Hussain Dar, former cricketer Javed Miandad and a large number of devotees gave gusal to the mazar with five maund of rose water.
Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs Nayyar Iqbal, Director General Auqaf Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari and other senior officers also attended the ceremony while devotees and people were also present in large numbers. After the gusal ceremony, special prayers were offered for survival and solidarity of Pakistan, unity of Muslim Ummah and success of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Talking to devotees, Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Mian Atta Muhammad Manika said that the mazar of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh in Lahore is a source of blessing for the people of the city as well as the whole country. He said that Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and other saints gave the message of Islam to several generations of people of subcontinent. He said it was due to the efforts of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and other spiritual leaders that Islam spread in subcontinent and the oppressed segment of the society got respect and dignity. He said best arrangements have been provided at Hazrat Data Darbar Complex for facilitating the devotees so that they could avail a peaceful spiritual atmosphere.
The Minister further said that Auqaf Department and district government have made foolproof arrangements for safety of life and property of visitors.
