Lahore: Punjab Police has got new automated Human Resource Management and Attendance System across the province to overcome numerous administrative and monitoring hurdles.
It was stated by Dr. Umar Saif, the Chairman Punjab IT Board that has launched this IT based initiative recently during a meeting on Thursday.
He told that the PITB had already provided almost 1000 Bio-metric devices to all police stations of the Punjab and the Inspector General Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera had issued instructions to all regional and district heads to ensure the bio-metric attendance of lower staff.
Dr. Saif said that the system had started work and the central dashboard was receiving attendance from police stations and other offices. He told that besides daily attendance, the system was equally helpful to maintain the necessary record of each servant such as recruitment, educational qualification, criminal record, departmental proceedings, punishments or rewards, synopses of Annual Confidential Records (ACRs) and medical profiles which could not be updated manually otherwise. “The system is also useful to assess and compare the workforce of a police station with the ratio of crimes occurring within its jurisdiction which could enable the authorities to rationalize the distribution of workforce in accordance with the volume of crimes,” he added.
Dr. Umar Saif said that the system was launched in the backdrop of a fact that some servants even didn’t have had their service records anywhere in Punjab but now each and every constable would be pin pointed instantly through the online data accessed by the IG and other high ups of Punjab Police through this system.
