Lahore: The 3rd TUMEXPO-2015, TUMSIAD Industry and Trade Fair is scheduled to be held from 22nd – 25th October 2015 at Istanbul Convention Center in Istanbul, Turkey. TUMEXPO will be inaugurated by the President of Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Leading companies from Turkey, European Union, Africa, Asia & Middle East will be visiting and exhibiting in this expo. More than 25000 visitors are expected this year. Machinery, Textile, Food, Automotive, Cosmetics and etc are the sectors of said expo. On the sidelines of TUMEXPO, Halal Expo 2015 and AlllinTech-2015 is also being organized.
On the directions of the Honorable Chief Minister, Punjab, a committee was constituted to deliberate upon and supervise participation in TUMEXPO 2015 under the Chairmanship of Ch. Muhammad Shafique, Minister for Industries, Government of Punjab and Co-chaired by Mr. Abdul Basit, Chairman of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade. Committee in its meetings proposed that strong participation should be made from Punjab in order to promote image of Pakistan at international business forum, explore markets for exports of products open opportunities for business, promote B2B and G2G relations for enhancement of cooperation between Pakistan & Turkey and to project Punjab as destination to invest and do business.
Punjab Board of Investment & Trade initiated necessary preparations and secured 300 square meters space free of charge from TUMSIAD to set up Pakistan Pavilion at TUMEXPO 2015 where PBIT will bring together exhibitors for the Pakistan Pavilion. TUMSIAD has also offered local hospitality to exhibitors from Pakistan. After allocation of space, PBIT invited participation from the leading Chambers of Commerce and Industry as well as Trade Associations for private sector participation. Punjab Board of investment & Trade with the guidance of Committee, has finalized the arrangements for setting up of Pakistan Pavilion where more the 22 Pakistani entities will be exhibiting their products from textiles, manufacturing, surgical instruments, tourism and food sectors.
The delegation is expected to be led by senior official of the Government of Punjab from 22nd – 25th October 2015 to participate in 3rd TUMEXPO 2015 along with over fifty private sector entities.
It may be mentioned that in recent years, Pakistan’s special relations with Turkey have grown into a strategic partnership characterized by deeper economic and commercial cooperation. Due to Punjab Government’s business friendly policies and proactive initiatives, Turkey has emerged as a key partner of Punjab in a number of projects in various fields. There has also been a significant increase in Turkish investments in Punjab. Punjab is at the centre of Pakistan’s strategic partnership with Turkey. This relationship is at a healthy growth trajectory.
The Chairman of TUMSIAD Mr. Yasar Dogan visited Lahore on 14 & 15 September 2015. During the visit he called on Chief Minister, Punjab, and extended an invitation to the Chief Minister, Punjab, to grace TUMEXPO 2015 in Istanbul with strong delegation from Pakistan.
