Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Cabinet Committee on Law & Order to ensure implementation of the comprehensive security plan evolved for Muharram-ul-Haram in letter and spirit and the ban on display of weapons should be strictly implemented.
He said that present situation demands extraordinary measures and there is a need to foil the nefarious designs of anti-nation elements with the force of unity.
He directed that Cabinet Committee on Law & order should review implementation of the security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram on regular basis. He said that implementation of special security measures for Majalis and routes of processions should be ensured at any cost and all possible steps should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens. He said that indiscriminate action should be continued against the elements promoting religious hatred through loudspeakers and wall-chalking.
The Chief Minister directed security agencies to remain fully alert and keep a watchful eye on miscreants. He said that no effort should be spared for maintaining an atmosphere of peace, religious brotherhood and tolerance during Moharam-ul-Haram and all concerned institutions should perform their duties in an efficient manner.
