Lahore: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Standing Committee on Horticulture and Agriculture Produce, Chairman Ahmad Jawad has said a town in Sargodha district, best known for its orange orchards, is now to get an industrial park of its own which is reflection that we are moving on industrial side, as Industrialization is vital to strengthen the economic condition of any country.
Speaking on a visit of Bhalwal Industrial Estate, Jawad said there is a large population in Pakistan, a rare occupancy of resources per capita, a shortage of electric power resources and a relative backward production capacity construction, and so, for the domestic economic construction and development and the promotion of people’s production and living level of Pakistan, it is urgent for the support of capacity.
Bhalwal Industrial Estate is one of the initiatives by the PIE to promote the idea of industry, especially for citrus sector with the facility of one window operation for the entrepreneurs which could also help to increase horticulture exports of the country and directly creating over 50,000 jobs and may indirectly create jobs for as many as 2.5 million people; he added.
Unfolding the Salient Features of Bhalwal Industrial Estate, Chief Engineer of PIE, Khizar Hayat briefed the FPCCI Standing Committee that this industrial estate is spread on 430 acres with the option of different plot sizes varies fom 0.5 to 2 acres. It is equipped with all necessary facilities from wide road network to 24 hours uninterrupted power supply including water supply system, Sewerage system, Strom Water drains, OHWR and Pump house (2 cusec each).
FPCCI Standing Committee on Horticulture appreciated the work of the estate and acknowledge the efforts of the Govt of Punjab and Management of PIE and said we are sure that in future this facility provides strong push to increase Kinnow exports from the country including provide gateway to other sectors as well.
