Lahore: Member National Assembly Daniyal Aziz has served a legal notice on Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) Imran Khan for making defamatory remarks against him.
Addressing a press conference here Thursday the PML(N) lawmaker said his disclosure to media about hydel power scam in the KPK government had pinched badly the PTI chief who made defamatory remarks against him in TV shows. He added a notice provided for payment of Rs 1.5 billion compensatory damages had been sent to Imran Khan who was out to level baseless allegations against the PML(N) in frustration.
He urged Imran Khan to reply to the notice in 14 days or tender apology from nation. In fact, he alleged, the KPK government had failed to utilize the funds exclusively meant for hydel projects to produce electricity.

Daniyal said it was the worst financial scam in the KPK history and the Auditor General report was also reflecting the misuse of the amount. He said nothing was materialized on ground, but hefty amount of Rs 1.8 billion were spent on account of feasibility of those projects.
He said the KPK budget document was also highlighting the financial mishandling of the hydel power funds, but the PTI which claimed to be democratic champion, did not post the particular page on its official website as part of a bid to hide its corruption acts. Daniyal urged the PTI chief to investigate as to why the page of the document was not shared with public.
