Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab organiser Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has declared irregularities committed by the Election Commission of Pakistan as the “murder” of democracy and people’s mandate.
He said the PTI was strong enough and continue its war for change. He said the PML-N’s political boat was dwindling and would sink in the next elections. The PTI’s win at Punjab Assembly seat has paved the way for the destruction of the “stay order league”, he said and added that the PTI would now focus on local government elections and win.
Chaudhary Sarwar was addressing a delegation of PTI workers led by Chaudhary Muhammad Saeed from Gujrat and Noor Kaliar from Sargodha here on Monday.
Chaudhary Sarwar said the ECP’s incompetence disallowed thousands of voters from exercising their right to franchise, because some voters’ addresses or constituencies were changed. It seems, the ECP has decided not to improve its competence,” he regretted and added that the PTI would continue fighting against the ECP’s inabilities. He said nobody could be allowed to rob the people’s mandate.
Chaudhary Sarwar said the PTI would now be reviewing the NA-122 voters lists of the Oct 11 by-election and 2013 general election and submit proof with regard to changes to the ECP. He said the PTI was claiming Lahore as its citadel but PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui’s win and 72,000 votes polled for Abdul Aleem Khan showed that the PML-N’s political boat was now dwindling. He said the PTI’s time was approaching fast. He said the PTI would now focus more on local government elections and launch mass contact movement in all union councils across Punjab.
