Ulema should ensure hundred percent implementation of laws : Rana Sana

Minister Law Rana Sanaullah KhanLahore: Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan has stressed upon Ulema, Khutaba and Zakireen of different schools of thought to adopt a moderate and positive attitude in their sermons during Muharram ul Haram in order to avoid sectarian violence. He said that law enforcement agencies will conduct search operation on daily basis during Ashura-e-Muharram throughout the province. Strict action will be taken against Ulema involved in provocation, he added. He said that there are threats of terrorism during Muharram ul Haram, however, law enforcement agencies are completely vigilant.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen in the wake of Muharram ul Haram at 90 Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam, here today. Provincial Minister for Auqaf Atta Manika, Minister for Excise Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Naib Ameer Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Pakistan Allama Zubair Ahmed Zaheer, Member National Committee on Sectarian Harmony Pakistan Allama Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Chairman Punjab Quran Board Lahore Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Chairman Ulema Council Allama Tahir Ashrafi, Mulana Fazal Kareem, Imam Badshahi Masjid Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Hanif Jalandhari, other Ulema  besides Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Secretary Home and IG Punjab were also present on the occasion, Rana Sanaullah said that there will be ban on interprovincial movement of Zakireen and Ulema. He said that instead of loudspeakers, decks should be used during Majalis. He said that hundred percent monitoring of processions of A category will be ensured through CCTV cameras. He said that in case of any untoward incident, army and Rangers will remain standby on the call of local administrations.

Rana Sanaullah said that Ulema should ensure hundred percent implementation of laws made for controlling sectarianism. The Ulema appreciated the government steps taken for the maintenance of peace during Muharram ul Haram and assured their full cooperation for their implementation. In the end, Ittehad-e-Bain ul Muslimeen Committee Punjab also issued a joint declaration for national solidarity, stability of country, sectarian harmony and overall law and order.
