Lahore : University of Education, Division of Education organized an informative seminar to mark the 50th anniversary of 1965 war with India.
Eminent defense analyst and Ex DG ISI Lieutenant General (R) Mahmud Ahmed participated as guest speaker while UoE VC Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam and other faculty members were also present.
The core purpose of seminar was to create awareness regarding 1965 war’s main causes, defense related affairs and strategies, war’s effects and ultimate consequences upon nations.
Lieutenant General (R) Mahmud Ahmad gave a detailed briefing related to Pak-India relationships versus conflicts, geographical locations, strategic challenges and prevailing defense strategies between two countries. He said that Pakistan’s brave armed forces always made our defense strong to protect country’s sovereignty and presented sacrifices at every critical stage. Lieutenant General (R) Mahmud Ahmed urged students to concentrate on their studies and work hard with commitment and dedication so that they could lead the nation.
Addressing the seminar, UoE Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam said that to enjoy the real benefits of good governance, the active participation of students in national development pace is a need of hour. He advised students to work hard day by day for making country’s future brighter. In his concluding remarks, VC Prof.Dr.Rauf-i-Azam said that both the students and teachers should put in their best efforts for real progress and development of beloved country.
Director, Division of Education Dr.Intezar Butt, faculty members and a large number of students attended the seminar and paid tribute to Pakistan Army for rendering great sacrifices for the country’s defense.
