PPP regrets over appointment of officials as a returning officers

Lahore: PPP Punjab has regretted over appointment of officials as a returning officers,saying that fair,free and transparent elections are not possible under the supervision of these returning officer.

Addressing a press conference,PPP Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said that we demanded appointment of judicial officers as a returning officers but our legitimate demand was turned down by the election commission that disappointed us,he added.

Mian Manzoor Wattoo said that after the announcement of election schedule,development projects supervised by the ruling party’s MNAs and MPAs to get votes for their candidates,was an attempt of pre-poll rigging that must be noticed by the election commission.He rejected kisan package with declaring it a fake package.He welcomed the deployment of Army and the rangers on election and said that it would be a useful decision to maintain peace during the elections.

The PPP Punjab president criticized the PML-N for taking stay order of NA-154 decision and said that PML-N has judged the masses mood and run away from the masses court to secure its seat in Lodhran.He said PPP was contesting the bye-elections of NA-122 and PP-147 and had started door to door campaign.He expected to give tough time to the ruling party in the forthcoming local bodies elections.
