The court orders to register FIR against SHO City and other cops for torturing a local journalist

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : Additional District and Sessions Judge Asif Bashir have ordered City Police the other day to register FIR against SHO Sagheer Shah, SI Bashir and other six police officials of Police Station Sadar for torturing a local journalist during police custody.

The Journalist Shahzad Hassan had filed a report in a local daily newspaper against police regarding running private torture cells to get admission from suspects involved in false cases and torturing a pregnant woman implicated in a theft case

. The accused woman was sent to jail on judicial remand where she gave birth to a dead child bearing spots of injury on his body.

Journalist’s wife Rahila who happened to be advocate filed writ petition with justice of peace against the accused. During hearing the judge accepted the petition after considering contents of the petition and arguments advanced by female advocate petitioner.
