The result of NA 122 would reflect past trend :Senator Pervaiz Rashid

Info Minister Senator Pervaiz RashidLahore: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said ongoing operation against terrorists is nearing success as manifested by visible decrease in  terror incidents during current year.

Talking to the media after visiting Child Protection Bureau (CPB), he said terrorists were on the run and the menace would further register a marked decrease as a result of successful execution of
consensus operation Zarb-e-Azb under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

He said terrorism in the country was a result of the conflicts among various countries of the world. Unfortunately it started taking roots during the era of non-representative government.

The elected government could have handled the situation much better as compared to dictator who succumbed to the external pressure,the minister said. The elected government could have resisted to such pressure and the country might have not become the victim of terrorism, he said.

Talking about Balochistan, he said the federal government has already played an important role in restoring peace in the province.The efforts of the government are bearing fruit and peace is
restoring fast in the province.He said political parties are in consensus in protecting the
national interest and no one is either angry with the government or perturbed.

Also there is a complete harmony among the federation and provinces, he said and added, federal government has joined hands with Sindh government for overcoming energy crisis.

Responding to a question, he said the neighbouring countries have assured Pakistan that they would not allow use of their territory against Pakistan for any terror activity. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also amended certain laws to curb this menace.

Speaking about the visit of Prime Minister, he said the Prime Minister would touch upon all issues during his United Nations General Assembly speech.

Responding to a question, he hoped the result of NA 122 would reflect past trend as chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had already been defeated in the same constituency of
Lahore.
Talking about Child Protection Bureau (CPB), he said the CPB has become the home of the abandoned and destitute children. Bureau was doing an excellent job by imparting technical as well as
conventional education to the children.

The technical education would enable them to play an effective role in society, he added.
The children residing in the CPB were the sons of the soil and they need the attention of all of us, he said. The main aim of establishing the CPB was to provide enabling environment, protection and home like facilities to the abandoned children.

He said he was happy on seeing that the children were enjoying the  festive occasion of Eid ul Azha just like their homes. He also lauded the excellent arrangements and facilities provided to the
children at the CPB.The minister said he was happy to see that government institutions
were doing excellent job. The government is concentrating on development and prosperity of the nation.

The minister was briefed about the performance and working of the bureau as he also spent some time with the children.
Chairperson of Child Protection Bureau Saba Sadiq was also present on the occasion.
