Terrorists have been eliminated from some areas: Marvi Memon

Lahore: Benazir Income Support Programme Chairperson Ms Marvi Memon reiterated the government’s firm resolve to provide maximum facilities to the displaced tribesman.

Addressing internally displaced persons at Baka Khel camp, she said the government had already taken various practical measures and it was taking more steps to provide relief to the tribal people,including educating their children.

Marvi Memon said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was keen in peaceful return of the displaced persons of Federally Administered Tribal Areas to their native areas.

Terrorists, she said, had already been eliminated from some areas while the rest would be cleared soon enabling the IDPs to settle in their homes.

She said the BISP was caring for the deserving families in FATA. It would be ensured that all the needy tribal people take benefit of various schemes of the BISP, she added.

Marvi Memon, who is also Member of the National Assembly, met women at the Baka Khel camp and exchanged Eid greetings with them. Special food was served to the IDP women on the occasion.

Later, the BISP Chairperson visited Mohmand Agency, where she addressed a gathering of tribals. She said the poverty survey in tribal agencies, which could not be completed earlier, would be started afresh. The deserving people would be enrolled for getting benefits of various BISP schemes, she added.

Ms Marvi also took a round of various houses in Mohmand Agency to know about problems being faced by the people in receiving BISP stipends. An elderly women on the occasion lauded the BISP for launching various schemes to benefit the poor and the needy.
