Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Punjab organiser Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has called to check the Election Commission of Pakistan from taking uncalled for decisions and termed Lahore High Court’s decision that parliamentarians can run election campaign as victory of democracy and the PTI.
Chaudhary Sarwar was addressing election public meetings in Garhi Shahu, Mian Mir and Samanabad along with party candidates Abdul Aleem Khan and Shoaib Siddiqui on Wednesday. PTI Punjab deputy organiser Omar Sarfraz Cheema, MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal and others were also present on the occasion.
He said PTI chief Imran would fully participate in the NA-122 election campaign for party candidate Abdul Aleem Khan after Eid-ul-Azha. He said the party would continue to exercise its democratic right of protesting and observing sit-ins till the elimination of corrupt system and ensuring provision of transparent electoral system in the country.Whenever, the true accountability would be held, the incumbent rulers would not remain in power but go behind bars.
Chaudhary Sarwar said the masses are supporting PTI in the by-election and would vote for it to won. He said Imran Khan was doing politics to gain national interests instead of personal gains but the political opponents were trying to malign party leadership by criticising their personalities. He said the PTI had become the most popular political party in the country and it was protesting to get due rights of the masses. He said that the time had become that every person in the country should come out on roads to oust the incumbent rulers to control damage to the country.
Chaudhary Sarwar said the suspension of ECP notification by the LHC and allowing all parliamentarians including Imran Khan to run the election campaign was a victory of PTI’s constitutional, democratic and principled stand.
Umer Sarfraz Cheema said the incumbent rulers were themselves posing threat to the masses as they were making policies to appease masses and grinding the have nots.
Abdul Aleem Khan said the PTI had demanded that the by-elections should be held under the supervison of Army to ensure that the exercise be held in a most fair and transparent manner. He expressed his no confidence in incumbent rulers and ECP with regard to the holding of elections in a free and fair manner.
