Dr. Umar Saif awarded with the prestigious “Performer of the Year Award

Lahore: Punjab IT Board (PITB) bags another honour when its head Dr. Umar Saif was awarded the prestigious “Performer of the Year Award” at the Karachi Social Media Summit 2015 organized by the Social Media Summit- a community that meets up with serious discussions on various topics like military, politics, business, foreign affairs and much more.

The award was presented to him by former President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industries Majid Aziz. Earlier, Dr Umar Saif gave a comprehensive presentation on Information & Communication Technology (ICT) interventions introduced by the PITB in to evolve government businesses and improve public service delivery in Punjab.

Dr. Umar Saif apprised the participants of his unique IT models for real time monitoring different institutes in Punjab such as Health, Education, Police, Irrigation, Livestock etc. which don’t allow employees to lie or fake their work. “If you are doing any work you need to post a picture as a proof that shows what you have done in the form of Before & After view. One cannot lie about anything as the picture will embed with a time & date when taken,” he added.

Dr. Saif told that the PITB and Information Technology University Lahore is working on almost 236 projects for various departments of Punjab and Federal government. He told that his work is being recognized at local as well global level as corruption fighting program of PITB known as Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program was recently adopted by the European country Albania.

Similarly other provinces are also collaborating with Punjab in IT based innovations.  He thanked the host on selecting his name as Performer of the Year 2015.
