Lahore: Ombudsman Punjab Javaid Mahmood, has ordered Collector Khanewal, DSP Sadar Circle Khanewal and TMO Khanewal to ensure dispossession of illegal occupation of state land within one month and submit a compliance report to Ombudsman Punjab Office in this regard.
According to details, Muhammad Tasleem and residents of Chak No. 79/10-R lodged a complaint to Ombudsman Punjab that Muhammad Mustaqeem etc. had been illegally occupying state land, reserved for the pond of the residents, since January 2009 despite orders and decisions of Revenue Courts upto Senior Member Board of Revenue and the civil as well as district courts. He alleged that neither any case is registered against illegal occupants despite directions nor accused have been dispossessed from state land.
Ombudsman Punjab directed Advisor District Khanewal Zahoor ul Haq Rana to probe the issue. It was disclosed during course of inquiry that DPO Khanewal had issued orders for legal action against illegal occupants but local police flouted the orders of DPO.
Ombudsman Punjab has ordered DSP Sadar Circle for necessary police assistance, TMO TMA Khanewal to arrange necessary labour as well as machinery from TMA Khanewal and AC/Collector Khanewal to dispossess the illegal occupants without further delay. He has ordered to submit a compliance report within a period of one month in this regard.
