RPOs reviews the security arrangements on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha

Lahore: In order to review the security arrangements on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, implementation of National Action Plan, overall Crime Situation, security of Chinese and security of Worship Places in Punjab, an RPO conference through video link was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore, today.

(R) Amin Wainse, Addl: IGP Elite Police Force, Muhammad Tahir, Addl: IGP CTD, Muhammad Tahir Rai, Addl: IGP Special Branch, Punjab, Faisal Shahkar, DIG Headquarters Punjab, Farooq Mazhar, DIG Welfare and Finance, Jan Muhammad, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Nawaz Warraich, DIG Operations Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG Investigation Lahore, Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, and other senior police officers in CPO and all RPOs were attended the conference through video link.

Conference decided to depute 51974 police officers / officials for security duty on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. The deployment will be included 289 gusseted officers, 664 inspectors, 2296 Sub-Inspectors, 3339 ASIs, 2662 HCs, 28152 Constables, 11887 PQR and 2685 officials of special police. Similarly, the decision regarding the installation of 126 walk through gates and 1093 CCTV cameras, besides the use of 9651 metal detectors at sensitive and grand gatherings was finalized.

Conference also reviewed the implementation of National Action Plan across Punjab. IGP was told that during last eight months 29093 search operations were conducted during which 801203 persons were questioned and 4535 cases were registered whereas, under foreign act and 13/20/65 etc. 3633 cases were registered. During the period action was taken against 123624 without number plates vehicles, 41001 unauthorized number plate vehicles and 9634 tinted glasses vehicles and 5464 illegal arms were recovered during these general hold ups.

Similarly, 2076 cases were registered on display of arms and 4901 cases were registered and 5349 were arrested on violation of sound system (regulation) ordinance 2015. On violation of prohibition of expressing matters on walls, 1038 cases were registered and 1008 persons were caught during action. 5741 cases were registered on violation of temporary residents ordinance, 2015 and on violation of hate material 511 cases were registered and 535 persons have been arrested during the period.

While reviewing the crime situation in Punjab, the conference expressed satisfaction on overall decrease of 28% in heinous crime like murder particularly, 72% in multiple murder, 23% blind murder, 25% kidnapping for ransom, 31% dacoity, 41% dacoity with murder, 65% in terrorism and sectarianism during 2015.

IGP was told that during the current year 68955 hardened P.Os have been arrested so far. The conference decided the geo-tagging of mosques and other worship places after completion the geo-tagging of seminaries.

Security of the Chinese experts working on various development projects of the Punjab government was reviewed in detail and the role of 2500 officials of SPU deployed with Chinese was also discussed in conference.

The conference was told that the solar system which was installed in 3 police stations of Toba Tek Singh is successfully working and water filters are being installed in police stations of all districts gradually.

It was also decided that the lists of the buyer of stolen cars in other provinces will be prepared at earliest so that the matter could be taken up at government level to stop this crime. The strategy to prevent the motorcycle theft was also finalized in the conference.
