Lahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed all the departments to ensure strict implementation of the job quota for disabled persons saying that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
He issued this direction while addressing a meeting to review implementation of job quota for the disabled, at Civil Secretariat here on Friday.
The Chief Secretary said that the Punjab government is taking all possible steps to help the disabled including visually-impaired persons get respectable status in the society and to make them useful citizen. He said that the government has adopted an effective strategy for rehabilitation of special persons and job quota for them has been increased from two to three percent.
He also directed all departments to complete the recruitment as early as possible by ensuring strict implementation of disabled quota. He mentioned that provision of employment opportunities for the special persons is the priority of the government and a survey is being carried out in all the districts to collect data about them.
The meeting was attended by Senator Saood Majeed, Additional Chief Secretary Syed Mubashir Raza and officers concerned.
