The rulers should not treat people as slaves:Ch Shujaat Hussain

Ch Shujaat HussainLahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has condemned in the strongest words baton charging and torture on doctors, nurses and paramedical staff in Islamabad.

In a statement issued here today, he said that unarmed doctors, farmers, traders, workers, govt employees all are on the roads, the govt knows only resorting to torture instead of solving their problems, treatment meted out to those belonging to healing profession was unprecedented, they were subjected to ruthless torture for stopping them from proceeding towards Red Zone, dragged on the roads, now that in this very Red Zone when PTI chief Imran Khan will be protesting on October 4, it is to be seen whether he is also baton-charged and tortured like doctors and nurses or ignored for sake of exigencies.

Ch Shujaat Hussain said that the rulers should not treat people as slaves as did the foreign rulers and rather listen patiently to people belonging to all sectors including traders, farmers, doctors, govt servants in order to remove their difficulties and solve their problems and try to allay their sorrows to the maximum extent possible. He said it is regrettable that doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are staging sit-in for payment of Health Risk Allowance, patients are suffering in hospitals but the govt has made it an issue of its ego.
