Lahore: Mandi Bahauddin Ex-Servicemen celebrated 50th Defence Day of Pakistan with religious fervor and enthusiasm. They in the morning gathered at Baldia Mosque where they held Quran Khawni.
Mosques Khateeb Hafiz Naveed was the chief guest who while paying tributes to Shaheeds and Ghazis said that nation would always stand with armed forces in defence of the country.
He conducted a collective prayer for stability and prosperity of the country. He praised enthusiasm of ex-soldiers and expressed his confidence that they were still with high morale to defeat nefarious designs of enemy in case of any threat to the country integrity.
He said our armed forces did not only defend borders of the country but were also playing an effective role to eliminate terrorism and providing aid to victims of natural calamities. He paid tributes to personnel of all security agencies for their role in fighting terrorism.
At the end of Quran Khawni ex-servicemen held rally in front of press club. Old veterans in their addresses paid homage to shaheeds and ghazies who fought in defence of the country. They said Defence Day refresh memories of our armed forces velour and courage demonstrated in 65 war against Indian aggression.
It was exemplary enthusiasm and backing of whole nation which kept morale of armed forces very high. They expressed solidarity with armed forces and other security agencies in their fighting against terrorism. They renewed their pledge to fight with their serving brethren if enemy dared to commit any aggression against our home land.
