Punjab government will ensure provision of hygienic food: Bilal Yasin

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that Punjab government will ensure provision of quality and hygienic food to the masses at every cost. He said that provision of quality eatable items to the people at cheaper rate will prove to be a revolutionary step which will not only promote positive approach but employment opportunities will also increase with the preparation of world standard food items.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference here at 90 Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam. Director food Ayesha Mumtaz and other officials were also present on the occasion.

He told that instructions have been issued to all district governments for implementation of laws for the provision of quality food items to the people. He said that food production in accordance with world standard will not only bring a change in the society but also result in increasing job opportunities. He said that it is necessary to eliminate black sheep form the society for the preparation of adulteration free food items in accordance with hygienic principles, therefore, laws of Food Authority will be strictly implemented.

Bilal Yasin said that those involved in selling of unhygienic meat will be held accountable and besides strict punishments, heavy fines will also be imposed to these elements. He said that adulteration in milk and drinks will not be tolerated. The Minister told that healthy society can only be constituted through eliminating the base of thinking of adulteration from the society Punjab government through practical steps has proved that elements involved in adulteration will not be tolerated at all.
