Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab Organiser Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has said the party’s Kisan Convention will be held in Hafizabad on September 5, which will addressed by party chairman Imran Khan and other central and provincial leaders.
He said the PTI was ready to fight at all forums to ensure that the farmers should be given their due rights. He said the Sugar Mills mafia was out squeeze even last drop of blood from the poor farmers.
Chaudhary Sarwar was talking to different farmers’ organisations’ office-bearers at his office on wednesday. He said the PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan was fighting for the rights of youth and women as well as farmers, who were the backbone of the country’s economy. He said the PTI would not compromise on the rights of people’s rights in the country.
He said the PTI would be ready to stand with the farmers even at roads for the resolution of their genuine problems so that they could work with peace of mind and strengthen country’s economy as well as fulfill food requirements.
Chaudhary Sarwar regretted that the farmers had come out on roads as they were not being given their due return on their crops, while the traders’ community had also come out on roads against the newly levied withholding tax, which they consider “extortion”.
However, he said, the senseless rulers were not even listening to their genuine grievances and the country was heading towards social and financial crises. He said the time had come that the rulers should stop mal-treating masses and fulfill the promises they had made with the people during their election campaign.
