Lahore: Though Oil Tankers Association has announced to end their strike even on its first day but artificial petrol shortage has been observed in all the major cities of the Punjab.A long queues were seen in the city metropolis petrol pumps without any solid reason.
The consumers who were provided a relief through cutting the price by the government,had to travel to one petrol pump to another in search of fuel to keep moving their vehicles.But every where they had to stand in long queues.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the news regarding non-availability of petrol in some cities of Punjab and ordered that provision of petroleum products on new rates should be ensured and Cabinet Committee on Price Control, provincial administration, Commissioners and DCOs should take necessary steps in this regard so that people should not face any difficulty.
The Chief Minister said that there should be no complaint of non-availability of petrol or diesel and it is the responsibility of the concerned authorities to ensure provision of petrol on fixed rates to the citizens. He said that immediate action should be taken over non-availability of petrol or diesel as well as against the owners of the petrol pumps involved in overcharging.
