Entry Test result will be displayed on 30th October 2015

Adll chief secLahore: University of Health Sciences conducted entrance test for the admission of public and private medical & dental colleges in Punjab on Sunday 30th August 2015. The test held in 34 examination centers established in 13 cities of the province in which a total 47559 candidates appeared out of which 31149 female and 16410 were male candidates. Additional Chief Secretary Syed Mubasher Raza and Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik visited examination centers of Board of Intermediate at Lawrence Road and Punjab University. Vice Chancellor UHS Major General (Rtd) Prof. Muhammad Aslam and other senior officers were also present on this occasion.

Talking to the media men Addl. Chief Secretary Syed Mubasher Raza and Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik said that government has made foolproof and best arrangements to hold the entrance test for the admission of medical colleges in a transparent way.

For this purpose, all the secretaries of government departments and other senior officers as well as Commissioners and DCOs were given the task to monitor the process of entrance test in all the examination centers held across the province. VC UHS Major Gen. (Rtd) Muhammad Aslam apprised the media about the arrangements. He informed that 34 examination centers were set up in 13 different cities of the Punjab where best arrangements were made for the convenience of the students and their families. He said that sitting arrangements for the families of students was also made outside the examination centers where cold drinking water was also available. He said that walkthrough gates, close circuit cameras and mobile jammers were also installed to ensure security of the students.

Six examination centers were established in Lahore which include Examination Halls of BISE, at Lawrence Road, Punjab University Examination Halls at Wahdat Road, Government Comprehensive Girls High School Wahdat Road, University of Education Township, Government Central Model School Lower Mall and Lahore College for Women University Jail Road. The entrance test was started at 09:00am and concluded at 12:00noon. In Lahore, a total 14404 candidates appeared out of which 9575 were female and 4830 male students.

The candidates and their parents expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the government. The senior officers monitored the examination centers. In Lahore Secretary School Education Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, Secretary Local Government Khalid Masood Ch, Secretary MPDD, Nadeem Arshad Kiyani, Secretary Higher Education Irfan Ali, Secretary Women Development, CEO Punjab Examination Commission Dr. Nasir Iqbal Malik and DCO Lahore Capt. (Rtd.) Muhammad Usman and other officers monitored the entrance test. Entrance test was held in a peaceful atmosphere throughout the province.

In Faisalabad, 4757 candidates appeared in the test similarly 2434 candidates from Sahiwal, 6783 from Multan, 2178 from Bahawalpur, 1434 from Rahim Yar Khan, 1821 from Sargodha, 5780 from Rawalpindi, 624 from Hassan Abdal, 1439 from Gujrat, 2729 from Gujranwala, 1565 from Sialkot whereas 1611 candidates from DG Khan participated in the entrance test. Government has made alternate arrangements for uninterrupted power supply for this purpose standby generators were made available. Moreover, at every centre medical staff and ambulance was also available to cope with any health related problem of candidates. Like previous years self scoring system in the entrance test is also continuous this year and students can know their score from the carbon-copy of the answer sheet and from the answer key. Moreover, University of Health Sciences has also uploaded the answer key of different papers of color codes on its websitewww.uhs.edu.pk through which candidates can prepare their result themselves.

The official result of entrance test would be announced within 10 days. In the next phase only those candidates would be eligible to submit their admission forms who would obtain 82% and more than that marks according to the formula made by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. Admission forms can be submitted from 1st October to 10th October 2015 in which candidates can also give their choices for medical colleges. These admission forms and prospectus will be available free of cost during the said dates from UHS Lahore, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi and Nishtar Medical College, Multan. First list for medical colleges will be displayed on 30th October 2015.
