Lahore: Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam, an eminent mathematician and the most senior professor of Government College University Lahore, Thursday vowed to ensure continuation of policies and merit in admissions “I hope that the government will appoint the regular vice chancellor soon, and till then I will put in my utmost sincere efforts to ensure the smooth working of the university,” said Prof Aslam while chairing a meeting of academic and administrative heads after assuming charge as Acting Vice Chancellor of GCU.
GCU Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Dr Islam Ullah Khan and Registrar Dr Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh was also present.
The meeting also deliberated upon the problems which are being faced by the various departments of the university due to the absence of Vice Chancellor since July 24, 2015, especially in the wake of the new academic session that is going to commence next week. The Acting VC was also briefed about the various development projects of the university.
Talking to heads, Prof Aslam said he had been teaching at this great institution, GCU, for the last twenty years and never compromised on merit. He also called upon heads to ensure punctuality among their staff members.
