11 years old writer Faizan Aslam Soofi ‘s fiction book launched in Islamabad

11 years old writer Faizan Aslam Soofi 's fiction book launched in IslamabadLahore: The book launching ceremony of Faizan Aslam Soofi’s new children’s fiction book, “Instrumental Queens,” was held in Islamabad. Faizan, an 11 year 7th grade student of Aitchison College Lahore, has distinguished himself in the children’s fiction genre by previously publishing a novella, “The Howl,” as well as a host of short stories in the country’s leading English dailies, including Dawn.

In his latest novel, Faizan has weaved elements of fantasy into finely crafted words which leave an enduring impression upon the minds of the reader. At the ceremony, Faizan impressed the audience by crisply reading selective paragraphs from his latest work, besides interacting with them in a Q & A session and signing copies of his books.

Mr. Irshad Ullah Khan, a Rhodes Scholar and Secretary-General of Oxford and Cambridge Societies, presided over as the chief guest. In his address to the gathering, he congratulated Faizan on his brilliant achievement at a tender age and termed his work pioneering in the children’s fiction genre. He said that he felt encouraged and optimistic about Pakistan’s future with young minds like Faizan around who will no doubt push forward the rich literary traditions of our country.

Dr. Zafar Altaf, notable ex-bureaucrat and agriculture expert, also spoke on the occasion and praised Faizan’s prolific writing abilities. The graceful ceremony was attended by a large number of children, school teachers and members of the city’s intelligentsia.
