Ch Shafique distributes cheques under Chief Minister Punjab Self-employment Scheme

Lahore: A function was arranged with the cooperation of Akhuwat and Punjab Small Industries Corporation under Chief Minister Punjab Self-employment Scheme at Masjid Hazrat Baba Shah Jamal in which cheques of loans for one to two lakh rupees were distributed among 52 men and women. Provincial Minister for Trade, Industry and Investment Ch. Muhammad Shafiq was the chief guest who gave away cheques to the deserving persons. Chairman and Founder of Akhuwat Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Director Punjab Small Industries Bilal Ahmad Butt, Ali Raza, Ghulam Nabi and other officers were present on the occasion.

Addressing the function, the Minister said that distribution of interest-free loans have been started under Self-Employment Scheme of Chief Minister Punjab for eliminating unemployment, earning Hilal livelihood and promoting business through hard work and honesty which was highly appreciated. He said that these loans are given without any safarish and political pressure and hundred percent re-payment of these loans has been ensured.

Ch. Shafiq said that due to the success of this scheme, Chief Minister Punjab has allocated more two billion rupees during current financial year. Chairman Akuwat Dr. Amjad Saqib told that more than 272 centers have been set up throughout the province and interest-free loans of more than 13 billion rupees have been provided to six lakh 92 thousand families in 168 cities. He said that these loans are distributed in local mosques without any religious, sectarian or political consideration.

Ch. Muhammad Shafiq said that provision of interest-free loans to the people in such a large number will help eliminate poverty and unemployment and society will become prosperous according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab.
