Deputy Chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri calls on Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: A delegation of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam(F) led by its central leader and Deputy Chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haideri met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Matters of mutual interest, political affairs and situation of the country were discussed in the meeting. Dua was also offered for Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada Shaheed and other martyrs.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase and is facing challenges like terrorism and shortage of energy. He said that the whole nation is determined to rid the country of the menace of terrorism. He said that National Action Plan is a joint national strategy against terrorists and their facilitators and its implementation is yielding positive results.

Shahbaz Sharif said that National Action Plan and operation Zarb-e-Azb are proving very successful in the war against terrorism. He said that there is no room for terrorism and extremism in the country and the need for national unity is more than ever in the present situation. He said that the whole nation is united to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism and serious efforts are being made to cope with the challenges being faced by the country.

The Chief Minister said that there is a need to promote brotherhood and tolerance in the society and the role of Ulema is of vital importance in this regard. He said that the scourge of terrorism and extremism will be rooted out with the force of unity. He said that the terrorists and their facilitators are the enemies of the nation and they will be wiped out from the country.

Shehbaz Sharif further said that Pakistan will be put on the road to progress and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Paying tributes to Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada Shaheed, Shehbaz Sharif said that he has sacrificed his life for the country and he will live forever in our hearts. He said that Col.(R) Shuja Khanzada has set an example of courage and bravery.

The delegation of JUI(F) assured full support to the government in the promotion of brotherhood and tolerance in the society. The delegation included Hanif Jalandhri, Maulana Amjad Khan and other ulema while Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and senior officers were present on the occasion.
