Lahore: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that attention should be given to education in the same manner which was given to atomic program of the country and it was the only way to resolve all the problems we were facing. He said that government should spend money on education as per international standards. He was addressing the flag-hoisting ceremony, in connection with Independence Day outside VC Office, New Campus on Friday.
PU Law College Principal Dr Shazia Qureshi, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Resident Officer-I Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Additional Registrar Dr Kamran Abid, Malik Muhammad Zaheer, Dr Hafiz Muhammad Rafiq, Dr Mahboob Hussain, senior faculty members, employees, students and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
In his address, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that we must respect other religions and should take care of rights of minorities because Pakistan was created with the efforts and thoughts of Quaid-e-Azam & Allama Iqbal and millions of people sacrificed their homes and lives. He said that our leaders and bbureaucracy did not give priority to education and health and today we were facing the results. He advised the parents to give special attention on the education of their children.
On this occasion, PU VC himself offered prayer for the prosperity of country and the Muslims. Later, sweets were distributed among the participants.
