PAF marks Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Air Headquarters

Lahore: Pakistan Air Force celebrated the Independence Day of the country with fervor and dignity.  The Day commenced with offering of special “Dua’” after the Fajar prayer in all mosques of Pakistan Air Force. All airmen and civilian staff of Pakistan Air Force, assembled at their respective Bases, Units and Headquarters to sing Pakistan’s National Anthem.

A Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. Air Vice Marshal Farooq Habib, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Training), hoisted national flag and read out the Air Chief’s message of the day.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, said in his message, “Every year we celebrate our Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and pay glowing tributes to our forefathers for their unparalleled sacrifices that they rendered to win independence. However, among all the festivities, as a nation with  a living conscience, we must not forget the plight of our brethren affected by the recent floods and displaced from their homes. By the grace of Allah Almighty, our nation has always displayed great solidarity in times of crisis and has emerged triumphant out  of all troubles. I assure you that Pakistan Air Force, being the front-line of National Defence is always ready to respond to the call of duty and defend the aerial frontiers of the motherland and will prove itself worthy of
the nation’s trust ….. In Sha ALLAH”.

On the auspicious day of independence, similar ceremonies were also held at all PAF Air Commands, Air Bases and other establishments.
