Pakistan Pediatric Association announced its support to Prof Tahir Masood Ahmad

Lahore: Pakistan Pediatric Association (Punjab) held an emergent meeting on Wednesday 12^th August 2015 at the Children’s Hospital Lahore to show solidarity and support to Prof Tahir Masood Ahmad in context of recent unprecedented decision by a local lower court.

The house observed that Prof Tahir Masood Ahmad is a dedicated, competent, professional and ethically very upright pediatrician with undoubtedly marvelous contributions to child health. He is not only a senior medical teacher but holds excellent reputation nationally and internationally in the field of medicine & pediatrics.

The members were of the view that the decision by the lower court is unprecedented and the case should have been referred to Punjab Health Care Commission for proper investigation before taking any legal action and declaring a verdict. Such a decision will adversely affect the provision of healthcare facilities to the ailing children and the practice of Pediatrics.

The house showed full support and expressed solidarity with Prof Tahir Masood Ahmad. Other professional medical organizations were urged to take a serious note of the matter and to raise their voice against unnecessary hype of the matter in media.
