Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the MQM’s sudden and unexpected decision to quit from the assemblies was both surprising and sentimental.
In his comments on the development, the JI chief said that in Pakistan, political parties were weak but the leaders were comparatively stronger, and politics revolved around the interests of personalities instead of principles.
Sirajul Haq said that the persisting political crises were a bad omen for democracy as politics stood for moderation and stability and not emotionalism. He said that the MQM’s resignations were also a test for the federal government. He said that the JI wanted peace and development in Karachi. It also wanted rule of law and merit along with the solution of the masses problems.
The JI chief said that the port city had been facing bloodletting and disturbance for the last 28 years and the Karachiites wanted peace and happiness to return to the city. Therefore, all stake holders should rise above their petty party interests and strive to the solution of the problems of the general public.
