The child abuser should be hanged like Pappu case: Ch Shujaat Hussain

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that those committing abuse of children be made an example like Pappu case.

Terming Kasur tragedy as another example of failure of the govt, he said that for the Child Protection Bureau established by Ch Pervez Elahi govt for protection of children in Punjab be made active like it was during his tenure. He said the bureau was not just a show piece but has an effective charter which should be implemented.

Responding to questions from media, Ch Shujat Hussain further said that during the tenure of late General Ziaul Haq, culprit of Pappu abuse case was hanged publicly in Chauburji Chowk Lahore after which no such incidence had occurred for years together. He said that neither condemnation of such incidents nor inquiries or Judicial Commission will serve any purpose as such, culprits of committing such heinous crime be tried in a military court to do quick justice.

He said those talking about rules and law should remember that God-forbid if any such incident occurs with their children then where rule and law will be standing. He said if the crime was proved against those involved in Kasur abuse case then they should be hanged publicly in Kalma Chowk Lahore because till the culprits are convicted parents of the children abused will remain restless.
