Sports Board Punjab observes Cleanliness Day’ as part of Dengue Eradication Campaign

Lahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP), on the instructions of Punjab government, observed ‘Cleanliness Day’ on Sunday. The day was celebrated as part of ‘Dengue Eradication Campaign’ in the locality.

All the offices of SBP remained open on Sunday to celebrate the day. All the parts of Nishtar Park Sports Complex, National Hockey Stadium and adjacent areas were sprayed and properly cleaned to get rid of fatal virus of dengue. The employees actively participated in the cleaning campaign. The stagnant rain water was also evacuated from the premises of Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar inspected the cleaning work thoroughly and issued directions to the staff concerned to review the cleaning on daily basis. He strictly said that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.

DG SBP Usman Anwar, in a statement, stressed upon the public to fight dengue. “It grows in the rainy season and we can cope with it properly with thorough preventive measures,” he added.
