Punjab government has once again left the people at the mercy of floods: Ch Zaheer

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Punjab General Secretary Ch Zaheeruddin Khan has said that the party will fully and actively participate in the local bodies polls which should be held in the Punjab under army supervision on same day instead of on staggered manner.

Addressing a meeting of the party office-bearers in the Muslim League House here today, Ch Zaheeruddin Khan expressed heartfelt sorrow and grief over the losses of lives and property caused by the floods in the province and stressed upon the PML office-bearers and district bodies that on the direction of Ch Parvez Elahi, party office-bearers and workers should tour the flood hit areas and provide all possible help and assistance to the effected people in untiring manner.

He expressed his regrets that the rulers of Punjab have once again left the people at the mercy of floods and not only new embankments have not been constructed but the existing embankments also have not been repaired and strengthened.

Those present in the meeting included Mian Muhammad Munir, MPA Khadeeja Farooqui, Tanvir Azam Cheema, Syeda Majida Zaidi, Nasir Ramzan Gujjar, Alamagir advocate, Sajjad Baloch, Engineer Shehzad Elahi, Suhail Cheema, Abdul Razzaq advocate, James Naz, Kanwal Naseem, Ashfaq Farzand Bhatti, Malik Faraz Awan, Sohail Cheema, Rana Iftikhar, Qaiser Rashid, Arshad Bokhari among other party office-bearers.
