Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while congratulating the nation on the happy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr has said that Eid festival demands from the faithful that they should make the good virtues of simplicity, sacrifice, patience and self-purification adopted during Ramzan-ul-Mubarik as permanent part of their life. He said that on this happy occasion, we should not ignore poor, widows, orphans and downtrodden people. He said that we should fulfill our religious, national, social and moral obligation by helping the less-privileged people. The Chief Minister said that we have to discharge our religious and national obligation by including poor and downtrodden people of the society in Eid joys. He said that Eid-ul-Fitr is, in fact, a special reward and gift of Almighty Allah after a month long worship, therefore, we should never forget poor and oppressed people on this happy occasion who await our help and attention.
In his message on the eve of Eid, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that religious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr demands that we should not forget deprived segments of the society and include them in the joys like our family members. He said that Punjab government is spending billions of rupees on the provision of basic amenities and relief to the poor people. He said that provision of quality eatable items has been ensured through Ramzan Bazaars set up in the province during the holy month of Ramzan-ul-Mubarik. The Chief Minister said that we can not only include those poor, orphans, widows and downtrodden people who cannot celebrate Eid due to lack of resources in Eid joys but also earn the blessings of Almighty Allah. He said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase of history and terrorism and extremism have destroyed the peace and economy of the country. He said that elimination of terrorism is vital for alleviating poverty and bringing development and prosperity in the country. He said that entire nation is determined to eliminate terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif vowed that the country would be purged of the menace of terrorism. He said that we will have to pledge on this happy occasion that we will make service to humanity as motto of our life for earning blessings of Almighty Allah. He said that we can get success in this world and the world hereafter by including the deserving and poor people in Eid joys.
The Chief Minister appealed to the nation to offer special prayers for elimination of scourge of terrorism and for the security, survival, development, prosperity and stability of the country. He said that we should pledge on this occasion that we will play our due role in the development and prosperity of the country.
