Election Commission should take notice of pre-poll rigging: Chaudhry Sarwar

Ch M Sarwa PTI Pic 11-7-15Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Punjab Organizer invited all District organizers and deputy organizers and members of the Punjab Executive Council for an update on the tasks achieved in their respective districts and highlight any issues that they are facing.

During the meeting, Ch Sarwar announced the Ethics & Disciplinary Committee to check and curb financial irregularities and violation of party rules in the party.  Muhammad Sarwar also addressed a press conference here before the start of the meeting and accompanied by Deputy Provincial Organizers Sibtain Khan, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Opposition leader Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rashid and President PTI Women Wing Punjab Salooni Bukhari.

The Ethics Committee comprises of three members namely Chaudhry Yaqoob, Mumtaz Kahlon and Hamid Zaman. The Committee would decide any petition brought before it within seven days. Former Governor and PTI leader Chaudhry Sarwar gave a strong message to corrupt elements saying that no ticket would be awarded to anyone involved in any embezzlement or if he is defaulter of any financial institution.

He also took a strict stance against the distribution of development funds by provincial government to local leaders belonging to PML-N.  He demanded that  Election Commission should take notice of this practise. PTI takes credit of being the only party in political history of Pakistan which had its two ministers arrested and hence proved that no one is above the law. He also said that there is no place for defaulters and fraudsters in the party.

He announced that July 25 is the last date for  receiving  applications for party tickets in LG elections and the final award lists would be displayed by August 20 2015.He said that it is the roe of the Federal and Provincial Election Commissions to ensure transparent and fair elections. For this we need the Biometric system and it is clear that the present government does not have any interest in providing transparency and therefore resists the biometric system.

Ch Sarwar stated that Punjab Government was not issuing development funds to PTI MPAs  and other opposition parties and thus is committing pre-poll rigging in the upcoming LG elections. He vowed to fulfill all promises made by PTI in its election campaign. The incumbent government promised to end loadshedding in six months but it has not lived up to its words, he said. He admitted mistakes in awarding party tickets for Cantonment Board elections and General Elections 2013 but ensured the workers that the process would now be fair and smooth and no ticket would be awarded against merit and against the will of party workers.
