CM orders immediate drainage of rainwater from low lying areas of Rawalpindi

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has ordered immediate drainage of rainwater from low lying areas of Rawalpindi.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments and administration to ensure drainage of water and utilize all resources for this purpose. He directed that steps should be taken on emergent basis for drainage of rainwater.

Shahbaz Sharif directed that officers of administration and concerned departments should remain in field till complete drainage of rainwater. He said that all precautionary measures should be taken in view of possible flood in nullahs.

The Chief Minister expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives due to flood in nullahs and heavy rains in some cities of Punjab and other parts of the country. He expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved families and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to heirs of the deceased to bear irreparable loss with fortitude.
