Lahore: A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court issued notices to the federal government on the bail plea of model Ayyan Ali.
Justice Anwaar ul Haq and Arshad Mahmood Tabassum heard the bail plea and sought reply in the currency smuggling case from the Customs Intelligence.
Counsel for Ayyan Ali contended that the Customs authorities arrested his client from the place which does not come under the passenger category. “Moreover, she had not took her boarding card for going to Dubai,” he maintained his arguments.
The counsel said that every citizen does not know the State Bank of Pakistan’s circular with regard to the currency smuggling. “As per the Customs Act, the accused may be granted bail if she is a woman and there is no need to further investigation” he continued.
