Lahore: Central PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz MNA has said that Pakistan which is a nuclear power is facing a number of challenges. He said that nation has given five years’ mandate to the present leadership and the government is moving in the right direction and serving the masses with commitment and dedication as it considers public service as a form of worship.
He said that darkness will be completely eliminated when ongoing power projects will be completed in 2017. Hamza Shahbaz said that government is facing big issues like load-shedding, terrorism and poverty but the fact is that the opportunity to develop national consensus over Kala Bagh Dam has been lost and had this project been completed 6000 megawatt electricity would have been available. However, he said, a splendid project like economic corridor is being implemented with the cooperation of China and will not be allowed by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to become a target of politics. He said that continuity of democracy is essential for progress and prosperity. He said that no one can immediately solve problems being faced by the country but the peaceful transfer of power in Pakistan augers well. He said that if a government will not deliver it will be held accountable by the people. He said that martial law is not the solution of any problem. He said that a number of development projects are being completed in the province. He said that after Lahore and Rawalpindi, metro bus project will be implemented in Multan while even a more splendid project of metro train will be completed in Lahore in 2017.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was addressing as special guest the concluding session of Ideological Summer Camp, here today. Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust and former President of Pakistan Justice® Muhammad Rafiq Tarar, Dr. Rafiq Ahmad, Justice Mian Aftab Farrukh, Mian Farooq Altaf, Dr. Parveen Khan, Dr. Ajmal Niazi, Shahid Rasheed besides a large number of teachers and boy and girl students were present on the occasion. Hamza Shahbaz said that creation of Pakistan is a result of supreme sacrifices of the forefathers of the country and the new generation should know that personal character is of more importance than status in politics or any other sector. He asked the students to gain knowledge for taking up their future responsibilities. He said that awareness about ideology of Pakistan and the teachings of the forefathers of the country is also essential for this purpose.
Hamza Shahbaz further said that solution of energy crisis is the top priority of the government and work is in progress speedily on 1300 megawatt coal-based power project in Sahiwal with the cooperation of China, 1300 megawatt power project in Jamshoro, 1400 megawatt LNG-based project of Punjab government with own resources, 3600 megawatt LNG project by Pakistan government, 1400 megawatt extension project of Tarbela Dam and 1350 megawatt electricity project on Neelam Jehlum. Hamza Shahbaz further said that Pakistan army has made supreme sacrifices in operation Zarb-e-Azm for rooting out the menace of terrorism and broken the back of terrorists. Former President Justice (R) Muhammad Rafiq Tarar, Dr. Muhammad Rafiq and other speakers while addressing the function said that 258 boy and girl students between the age of six to 13 years of 64 schools attended the summer camp regarding Nazaria Pakistan for one month and took part in speech contests, quiz programmes, Qirat and Naat contests and other positive activities. The students also presented national songs on the occasion. The children presented badge of Nazria Pakistan Trust and bouquet to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on his arrival. Justice Muhammad Rafiq Tarar presented a set of publications of the trust as a gift while the chief guest Hamza Shahbaz awarded prizes and certificates to the prominent boy and girl students.
