IG announces the relief package for the families of martyrs

SI Abdul MajeedLahore: After getting approval from the Punjab Government, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has issued a notification regarding the relief package for the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during bomb blasts, terrorism, riots and police encounters.

According to the notification, now from constable to head constable’s family will be entitled to get 50 lac relief package including 10 lac for house and 40 lac for welfare. Similarly, from ASI to Sub-Inspector’s family will get 70 lac relief package including 20 lac for house and 50 lac for welfare. Inspector to DSP’s family will be entitled to get 90 lac relief package including 30 lac for house and 60 lac for welfare. Whereas, from SP to SSP’s family will be entitled to get 120 lac including 40 lac for house and 80 lac for welfare and DIG and above’s family will be entitled to get 150 lac relief package including 50 lac for house and 100 lac for relief package.

Besides, the Shaheed families will also be benefited with the full salary along with the annual increment till the superannuation of shaheed. They will also be entitled for full pension. According to the new package, children of shaheed constable to sub-inspector rank will be inducted in police department at any post of grade 1 to 7 and children of shaheed Inspector and above rank officers could be recruited as sub-inspector.

According to new package, free education will be provided to the children of shaheed police personnel from Primary to Post Graduate level and all expenses will be borne by the Punjab Government.

This notification will be implemented with immediate effect. It may be recalled that earlier 30 lac package was awarded to the shaheed’s families.
