Lahore : Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has expressed the hope that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would keep his fresh promise of resolving the energy crisis by the end of 2017 as against the PML(N)’s election slogan to overcome the issue within six months.
Addressing an Iftar party at Sadhoki in the city, he said that the rulers should keep in mind that the general public was sick of the energy crisis and the unannounced load shedding and the situation could become explosive any moment. He said that frequent increase in POL prices and electricity tariff had made the budget and the parliament as irrelevant.
Liaqat Baloch appreciated Prime Minister’s decision not to allow any raise in the POL prices during the month of Ramazan. However, he was suggested that there should not be any petrol bomb after the holy month.
He said that the Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti had revealed that irrefutable evidence had been found about RAW involvement in Balochistan and Karachi. He said the government should immediately begin a diplomatic campaign to expose India’s real face .
Meanwhile, JI’s deputy Secretary General, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has condemned the Rs.3 per unit raise in the electricity tariff and termed it another anti people step of the rulers. He said that the electricity bills were being used to collect different taxes. Instead of levying direct taxes on the rich, the poor were being fleeced through indirect taxes. He demanded immediate withdrawal of the fresh raise in power tariff.
