Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Kh. Salman Rafique chaired a high level meeting to review the arrangements for functioning of the newly built Lidher Hospital, Bedian Road, Lahore. Besides, Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik, Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Khan Sumbal, EDO health Lahore Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, EDO finance CDGL and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Lidher Hospital is THQ level hospital of 60 beds and 290 million rupees have been spent on the construction of the building of the hospital whereas the process of procurement of medical equipment for the hospital is under process. He told that medical equipment of Rs. 48 million would be purchased for this hospital.
EDO health Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said that the LC for the purchase of medical equipment has been opened and it is hoped that the concerned firm would supply the equipment within couple of weeks. He further said that a large piece of land has been earmarked within the boundary wall for extension of the hospital in future.
Kh. Salman Rafique said that as per direction of Chief Minister Punjab, Lidher hospital would be run on the module of Tayyep Erdogan Trust Hospital. He said that for this purpose a presentation would be given to Chief Minister within couple of days and he will give approval in this regards. On this occasion, Secretary Health Jawwad Rafique Malik directed to the authorities of PHA to complete horticulture work on fast track in the premises of the hospital. He directed EDO health to prepare a presentation for the Chief Minister based on update of the infrastructure, human resource and medical equipment.
