Lahore: In a seminar organized by Pakistan National Forum and Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies, renowned Senator S.M. Zafar has said that operation Zarb-e-Azb must continue till the elimination of terrorism.
He was addressing the seminar organized at Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) here on Monday.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Former Speaker National Assembly Syed Fakhar Imam, Former Corps Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. M. Naseer Akhtar, President Pakistan National Forum (PNF) Col. M Ikram Ullah Khan (r), Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javed and renowned defense, political and academic analysts were present on the occasion.
Addressing the seminar, Mr Zafar said that Rangers were investigating into the affairs of Karachi and Karachi operation must continue to ensure peace in ‘Mini Pakistan’. He said that corruption was one of the major reasons behind deteriorating situation in the city.
PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said that people of Karachi were happy from the Rangers operations. He said that most of our problems were created by bureaucracy because they don’t have sympathy for people.
Syed Fakhar Imam said that there was flexibility in a democratic system but the governments must not compromise all the times. He said that we had failed to provide justice in the society. Lt Gen Naseer Akhtar said that no operation could meet success without public support.
The meeting was also addressed by Col Ikram Ullah Khan, Dr Umbreen Javed and others.
